How to import in the UNI-Cloud
How to import in the UNI-Cloud
It's finally here, the long awaited import functionality in the UNI-Cloud. From now on, you can import your drawing straight into the UNI-Cloud from the comfort of your office and connect it to the appropriate UNI.
Not only is this a very practical feature, it's also very easy to do!
Where can I find the import functionality?
When you're in your UNI-Cloud environment, you can open or create the project in which you want to import your file. To navigate to your projects, you go to "Survey" and then select "Project", here you will find an overview of the projects related to your account. You can open your project by pressing the blue eye-icon on the right side or create your new project by pressing the plus-icon in the top-right corner. When the project is opened you will see a viewport with your current location, if that is known from your computer. Here you can press the import button in the top-left corner of the viewport.
So I've pressed import, now what?
After pressing the Import-button, you will be shown several windows to guide you through the import process. The first window is an easy one, select which filetype you would like to import, select it and select the corresponding CRS. Then click "Next".
When the file is uploaded and the CRS has been selected you can go to the next window. In this second stage, you are able to select layers from your file and directly link them to layers in your UNI-Cloud. This means that the imported file can immediately be uploaded with the right layers for your stake-outs or measurements. If you check the "file layers" box, you will be shown the layers in the project and you are able to select a layer from your UNI-Cloud to link this with. Furthermore you can even decide which layers you would like to import and which you would like to leave out by checking the boxes in front of the layers. If you check that box, that layer will be imported into UNI-Cloud.
When you have selected the layers you would like to import and, if you would like, selected the layers to correspond with them, you can go on the final window which is the actual import. That's it! You have successfully imported your file into the UNI-Cloud. If you are having trouble uploading the file, it might be that the file includes elements that are not supported (yet), if this is the case, take a look at our article; From Autocad to UNI-Connect, to prepare your file for a smooth import!
